About MeArtist Rachel Robertson set up her business Hackley Bags in 2018 and it is named after Hackley Bay near Collieston. The process for making this wax cotton bucket tote bag was quite similar to the process she uses to make her cotton canvas bags. However, because of the malleable nature of the wax fabric she was able to add in some details and manipulate the seams with her hands. The exterior is dark charcoal and the inside contrast colour is bright coral.
Wax cotton ages beautifully and changes every time the bag is used so the material becomes part of the story of the object..
