About MeMoira Frewin was a Scottish painter born in Angus in 1939. Little is known about her, but she features in two collections in Aberdeen: our own and Grampian Hospital Arts Trust and was an active artist in the community of Aberdeen(shire). This painting was acquired by Alanna Knight, the mother of the donor in the early 1970s at a fundraising event in Aberdeen. Alanna was a prominent member of the artistic community as a writer of historical novels. Knight entered ‘Where No Birds Sing’ in a fundraising competition which turned out to be the winning-entry and secured the painting as the prize.
