About MeLimoges porcelain cylindrical teapot with gently squeezed body, short spout and twisted wire handle. Irregular rim with deep recess to accomoodate the flat circular cover which has a circular steam hole.
The teapot is glazed inside and out in a pale blue celadon subtle crackle glaze with unglazed band around the rim and neck.
Crackle glaze is a decorative technique of deliberately introducing numerous minute surface cracks which originated in China. Celadon also came from the Far East and is frequently found in shades of pale green and pale blue, the colour changing depending on the quantity of iron oxide added to the glaze before it is fired.
