About MeAs a pupil of Walter Sickert, founder of the Camden Town Group, Drummond was a natural recruit for the artistic society. Like his comrades he depicted scenes of ordinary life. This painting was exhibited in 1974 as the 'Tea Party Chelsea' and may depict Drummond's studio at 4 Yeoman's Row, Chelsea.

In this painting Drummond assimilates the influence of Post-Impressionism and in particular, the work of Matisse. There is little attention to modelling or detail and the sketchiness of the scene gives the appearance that it is not finished. Colour is applied boldly in solid flat shapes with the blue under-drawing still visible.

More About Me
This work by Drummond shows the influence of Postimpressionism and particularly Matisse with little attention to detail, an almost unfinished look and colour applied in solid flat shapes
