About MeThis vase is decorated with a slightly streaked emerald green glaze with some lustre. Hugo 'Ugolino' Allan set up the Allander Pottery in Milngavie around 1902. A graduate of Glasgow School of Art, Allan was primarily a painter, and was self-taught as a potter. The decorative vases, bowls and jardinieres were decorated with translucent and crystalline glazes. Allan suffered from ill health which restricted the output of his workshop, and the pottery closed in 1908, with Allan dying the following year.
