About MeBucentaur was built in Norway in 1983 for Farmand Survey. Initially it operated in the Berents Sea and in the Norwegian Sector of the North Sea. At the time this image was taken Bucentaur was equipped with a state of the art diamond coring system enabling speedier and more accurate surveying of geological features beneath the sea bed.
The vessel worked extensively around the British coast as well as further afield.
Latterly it was engaged in surveying areas designated for offshore wind generation.
