About MeThis work epitomises the apparent simplicity and directness of the late work of Wilhelmina Barns-Graham. The calculation of her earlier work has given way to a more organic creative process, where pleasure in the medium and in colour is central. Simple areas of blue, applied with the minimum of visible brushstrokes in two broad areas on the paper, leave the viewer to interact with the very basic colour and pattern harmonies.

More About Me
Typifying the artist's less complicated later work, the possible symbolism of the left panel contrasts with the simplicity of the deeper blue panel, giving a feeling of the ocean.
