About MeEarthenware gravy boat and stand from dinner set. The Heirloom pattern was designed in 1967 for Hornsea Pottery by John Clappison. The distinctive pattern was screen printed onto the pottery with a medium which resisted the glaze, which then covered the unprinted areas. The thicker glaze produced a relief effect which enhanced the design. The Heirloom repeating pattern was developed from sketches and designs made with calligraphic pens.
