The beakers were originally presented to the church in 1811 by the inhabitants of Aberdeen and were made by Peter Lambert.
Both are of a plain form, similar in shape and style to the set made by John Allan for St Clement’s church, Footdee (ABDAG008612). They have an identical inscription, other than the date, which in this instance is 1811.
Like Allan, Lambert was also educated at Robert Gordon’s Hospital, enrolling there in 1790. His aunt Janet Urquhart was married to John Allan and Lambert was apprenticed to him in 1796.
