About MeCromar Watt trained as an architect but eventually abandoned this profession after travelling in Italy and Greece and becoming interested in ornamentation. He devoted much of his life to promotion of the arts and served on the Art Gallery Committee. His bequest includes his architectural drawings, sketch books from his travels, his own jewellery and enamel work, and items he collected (Venetian glass, ceramics from the East, lacquer work, and enamels).Reminiscent of a painted portrait miniature, this plaque demonstrates incredible enamelling skill, the face rendered in photographic detail.
