About MeGeorge Washington Wilson began his artistic career as a miniaturist but as this medium became increasingly redundant due to the introduction of photography in the 1840s he turned to photography and ultimately ran one of the most successful photographic businesses in Great Britain.

This work came into the collections as part of the George Washington Wilson archive of several thousand items.
