About MeThis painting was described by the artist as a depiction of his friend and fellow artist Joan Eardley ascending into heaven. Joan Eardley died prematurely in 1963 and Angus Neil was traumatised by her death. He began the painting in 1969 and reworked it from 1983 until 1989.
