About MeEccentric pot for tulips, made up of four separate graduating parts which fit together and feature modelled fish curling and swimming around waves of clay.
All Carol McNicoll's work is slip-cast and assembled, the forms often being developed in other materials. In spite of its apparently outlandish nature, her forms actually function extremely well. She frequently chooses to imitate other materials such as paper or woven, knitted cloth, but she restricts her exploration to vessels designed to contain in some way or other.

Her work is hand-built and often elaborate in construction. A model may be made first in paper or card before fashioning the pot. Slabs of white earthenware are coloured and patterned first, with further decoration sprayed and stencilled until the desired effect is achieved.
