Oxidisation is a process where metal is exposed to a sulphur solution in order to turn it dark. Areas are then polished to retrieve the original silver colour. This allows for interesting patterns and textures such as the cloud formations on this vessel.
More About Me
Rawnsley was inspired by landscape, particularly that of Wales. Here, oxidation of the silver by exposure to sulphur has darkened the metal, which by polishing produces interesting patterns as in these cloud formations
