About MeThis piece beautifully exhibits Suzuki's groundbreaking sensual handling of silver through his pioneering method of hammering and raising vessels. Contrary to the traditional way of raising a vessel by beating the metal over a wood or iron stake, Suzuki literally hammers in air, relying on no supports to raise the metal. The result is fluidity of form, which is an aspect found in much of Japanese art. The vase appears to ripple with such grace; like silk blown in a breeze.
