About MeBorn in London, Roy Wood studied printmaking at the Royal College of Art. In 1967 he co-founded Edinburgh Printmakers and went on to teach at Edinburgh College of Art for thirty years. Working in the mediums of drawing, painting and printmaking, Wood cites among his many influences travel and literature to be his main source of inspiration – especially narrative prose and poetry. In 2003 the artist fulfilled a lifelong ambition and went to Japan, following the footsteps of Japan’s celebrated poet Basho.

In 2012, Wood presented a body of work which focussed on his graphic printmaking practice entitled “Sailing to Byzantium – Roy Wood at 75” at Patriothall Gallery.
