Paul Lawrie

Since then he has won a number of competitions including the Wales Open, the Open de Andalucia de Golf, Johnny Walker Championship, and the Quatar masters in 2012 for a second time. He was part ofthe winning European Team for Ryder Cup in 2012 where he hit a hole in one. He was also vice captain of the European Team in 2016 and 2020.
In 2001 he founded the Paul Lawrie foundation to promote interest in golf among the upcoming youth players. It has since widened its scope into soccer and hockey.
He was awarded an OBE in 2000 and an MBE in 2013.
He retired from the European Tour in 2020.
