DescriptionALEXANDER ELLIS 1830 - 1917 ARCHITECT LIVED HEREHistoryArchitect. Born in Aberdeen and educated at Robert Gordon's Hospital and Aberdeen University, he trained with William Smith, City Architect. He set up his own business and then formed a partnership with R.G. Wilson which lasted until 1895. Ellis is best remembered for his work on ecclesiastical buildings including churches in Aberdeen, Dundee, Banff, Ellon, Fraserburgh and the west wing of Blair's College.
