Union Glen/Hardgate

DescriptionExcavation was carried out by Aberdeen City Council Archaeological Unit in 1995 in an area in Ferryhill known as 'Strawberry Bank' prior to redevelopment. This area lay just to the east of the site of the Justice Mills, which operated there from at least 1398. The excavation recorded garden soils containing pottery of 18th and 19th-century date, but no evidence of any earlier occupation was found. The finds from this site are in the collections of Aberdeen Art Gallery and Museums.
