About MeIn Madrid James McBey spent eight days copying Velasquez's arresting portrait of the dwarf Don Diego de Acedo, nicknamed "El Primo" and although later on in his career McBey certainly was influenced by more modern artists, Velasquez and Rembrandt remained his benchmark. The copy of El Primo hung in his London home for the remainder of his life.
