About MeLocated in the St Nicholas Shopping Centre in the public exterior plaza on the upper level. Along with works by Gavin Scobie and Roland Piche it was commissioned through the Aberdeen City Centre Development Scheme and unveiled by Lord Provost Henry E. Rae in October 1985.

Paul Mason was a stone carver in the Moore tradition - not only with regard to form, but also meaning and context. He carried out numerous public commissions throughout Britain and in 1996, during a residency at the Tate St Ives, he was invited to utilise Barbara Hepworth's studio and carve a piece of stone that formed a centrepiece in an exhibition, "Paul Mason: new sculpture for Tate St Ives".

Mason taught at the art schools in Loughborough, Staffordshire, Northumbria and Derby, where he held the post of Professor of Sculpture from 2004.
