About MeThis white wedding dress was worn at a ceremony held at Wellesley Parish Church, Methil, Fife, in March 1967. It was purchased at 'Beveridge's' in Kirkcaldy. The bride worked as an administrator for several local council authorities and moved to Aberdeen in 1974.By the late 1960s the conservatism shown in wedding dresses since the end of World War Two was disappearing. Bridal fashion displayed a renewed interest in historical styles. This dress features some of those traits. The full-length skirt, the use of lace, and the train attached to the back, just under the bustline, hint at the Empire line made popular in the late eighteenth century.
