About MeLetter from James McBey to friend and art collector H. H. Kynett, dated 1 April 1953. In it McBey discusses author Ivor Brown, and recipe book "Venus in the Kitchen" by Norman Douglas, which includes information about cullen skink.

Originally enclosed was a map McBey had created to show Kynett the location each Scottish etching and sketch depicted, which McBey discusses. He then congratualtes Kynett on his new book idea, and tells him about "The Far Cry" by Emma Smith, which he had just completed.

The letter consists of one sheet typewritten.

This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as this letter.
