About MeCarte de visite of a standing woman, her arms are crossed over each other and in her right hand she is holding an open book. There is a small side table to her left and a drape in the corner to her right. Her hair is neatly styled in ringlets, she is wearing earrings as well. Her dress collar is white lace and she is wearing a choker with long ends and a heart in the middle. Her dress has long sleeves and a few thick line patterns on the front, edges and back of the bustle. There are buttons going all the way down the length of the dress at the front. On the reverse the photographer's details appear in full. There is also a handwritten note in either blue or purple pencil: 'Miss Cowe.' This suggests that the woman is unmarried.1900-1949
