About MeCarte de visite of a seated woman on a plush chair. Her hair is styled with plaits on the top of her head; she is wearing earrings and has a wedding ring. Her dress has a frilly trim and white collar and she has abrooch pinned the front of her neckline. Her dress has a bustle and white cuffs and three black buttons on the ends of her long narrow narrow sleeves. Buttons are also visible going all the way down the full length of the dress at the front. On the reverse the photographer's details appear in full as well as a hand-written note in pencil, the initials: 'J.H.' c. 1850-1860c. 1870
