About MeSmall, square token showing initials, date and rather crude line-and-dot decoration: it is inscribed on one side only: K.M 1776. The pre-Reformation church which existed at Midmar belonged to the Priory of St Andrews. The present church was built in 1787.

Midmar Church serves a rural community which includes the splendid 17th-century Midmar Castle. The kirkyard contains the remains of a prehistoric stone circle. Midmar is approximately twelve miles west of Aberdeen near the B9119 road. Closer to the roadside the ruins of an earlier church may be seen.
