About MeThe hundred-pound note had the same design and security features as the other denominations in this series; it was printed (by Bradbury Wilkinson and Company) in an attractive combination of brown and sage green.

This is the highest denomination in the North of Scotland Bank series introduced in 1909.

At the date of its issue such a note would have been sufficient to purchase a small car. The number of these notes in circulation would have been very small and surviving examples probably total no more than ten.
