About MePimlico is one of Sickert's later and more experimental works. In the last decade of his life he began using photographs in a manner that many contemporary artists now assume to be a normal method for developing a composition. Sickert often took an available image from the press or a snapshot that he had taken himself and used it to help him make up his composition. The way that this scene has been put together suggests the use of a photograph for it appears to be a split moment in time that has been captured.More About Me
