About MeThis beautiful Chinese silk brocade wedding dress was made in Hong Kong and was worn by a bride to her wedding in St. Mary's Church, in Sussex, in June 1950.It features a fitted bodice with broad shoulder straps and a cuff around the neckline. The skirt is long and wide. A matching jacket and belt complete the outfit. Romantic-style wedding dresses of the 1950s, like this one, tended to be conservative in design, with a fitted bodice and long skirts. Trains became shorter than in previous decades and the use of brocade fabric was popular.
