About MeDunstan's approach to his subject matter is similar to that of the French 'Intimiste' artists, Pierre Bonnard and Edouard Vuillard. In this composition, he has captured an intimate moment when the model appears just to have risen from the bed with crumpled bedclothes surrounding her. This work can be also compared to the work of the Camden Town Group who also sought to capture 'a slice of life', often depicting models in an interior setting.
More About Me
Is this person stretching after having a nice sleep, ready for another long day? Do you think the bed looks comfortable?
