About MeCarte de visite of Windsor Castle with the river Thames in the foreground. There is a small line of boats with the city-scape and castle in the background. The castle itself was built in the eleventh century not long after William the Conquerer and the Normans took over England. It still serves as a royal residence to this day.1900-1949
