About MeCarte de visite of Stirling Castle as seen from the King's Park. The castle sits atop a crag and was built from the twelfth century onwards. Several Scottish Kings and Queens have had their coronations there including Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots in 1542. In the foreground a young man appears to be pushing something, possibly a wheelbarrow in the shadow of the castle. g.w.wilson no.491 aberdeen
