About MeAthenian Amphora. Small, slightly rounded vase-like vessel narrowing towards it's base. it has a tall narrow neck with a tapered, thick rim. decoration consists of an illustrated foreground of three figures and a warrior figure confronting a chariot on the opposite side of the vessel, both in dark brown. background colour is close to orange/brown.

Decoration includes chariot and Dionysos and satyrs. The image is non-mythic and related to feasting and drinking and the loss of inhibtion. It is an early attempt at perspective drawing and is may have been produced within the circle of the "Rycroft Painter".
