About MeCarte de visite of Miss C.E Gordon photographed standing next to an ornamental Greek column with an embroidered table cloth draped over the top. She is wearing a full skirted dress with wide sleeves. The fabric of the dress has horizontal textured stripes. There are vertical black (velvet) stripes down the front of the bodice and skirt, black buttons and a patterned bow tie on the front at her neckline. She is also wearing a long tassled shawl over her shoulders and a pair of earrings. Her hair is up in a low bun with a middle parting. Her hands are in front of her and she appears to be holding flowers.
On the reverse the photographer's details appear in full along with a hand-written inscription in ink: 'Miss C. E. Gordon.'
