About MeThis catalogue is a list of 897 names, which have been arranged alphabetically and have also been allocated to one of nine groups. There are approximately 100 names in each group. The names are of men whose portraits were taken in the Crown Street Studio between 1852 and 1896.

The 'Personal Explanation' in the front page of the catalogue claims that the collection of names is 'fairly representative of the leading men of Aberdeen, for the second half of the nineteenth century'. Groups 1 and 2 are from 1856 and 1857. Group 3 is of those published in 1896. In 1896 the studio abstained from portrait work for ten years. The remaining 5 groups is a selection of 600 portraits taken between 1852 and 1896. The Catalogue has been arranged so that purchase of a print of any of the portraits can be made, as they still possessed the original negatives in good condition. The prices of prints are provided on the back cover page.

The 'Personal Explanation' continues to express the uniqueness of their collection, claiming 'we do not think any other city has a similar portrait gallery of its leading citizens, covering practically the whole period between the beginning of the photographic portraiture on paper and the end of the 19th century.'
