She is sitting at a small table and is wearing a dress with long sleeves, white cuffs and a high collar with a brooch and white lace trim as well as a choker. Her hair is up and styled in a middle parting. The photographer's details appear in full on reverse side as well as hand-written numbers in pencil: 'PH3904' and another note in black ink 'Mrs Geo Sangster.' c.1880sInscribed on the reverse "BY ROYAL LETTTERS PATENT // PORTRAIT, LANDSCAPE // ARCHITECTURAL // PHOTOGRAPHER // [crest] // ESTABLISHED 1853 // A.ADAMS, 32. Part of a time capsule recovered from tenement block at 34 St Clair Street during its demolition in October 1986. The capsule was seemingly created by George Sangster, founder of the Bon-Accord Pneumatic Tool Co.
