About MeThis is a copy of a work by the Florentine Renaissance artist, Giovanni da Bologna, who was sculptor to the powerful Medici family.

The statuette is an example of the souvenirs British gentlemen collected on their Grand Tour of Europe. In the 18th century, the Grand Tour became established as the essential finishing school for aristocratic young men and the means whereby taste and judgement in matters of art were acquired.
