About MeIn this work, painted on one of his infrequent trips to the north east of Scotland, McBey chose the agricultural landscape of Angus as his subject. With typical economy of line and colour, he captures the atmosphere of a particular place and time.

During the 1930s, McBey travelled between Britain and Morrocco and on the reverse of this canvas is painted an Algerian street scene.
