About MePhilip Braham's work does not fit easily with that of his Scottish contemporaries. His images - of fire, water and light itself - recall the intensely beautiful landscape paintings of Breugel, Hobbema, Ruisdael and particularly Caspar David Friedrich. Like them Braham imbues his landscapes with allegory and atmosphere but his handling is freer and in spite of the historical references, his painting is consciously modern.More About Me
