About MePrincess Augusta Sophia (1768-1840) was the sixth child of George III. Herself a keen amateur artist, Robertson depicts her with paintbrush in hand. On 24th February 1807 Andrew Robertson noted in his diary:
"…Princess Augusta made me a present of a colour box."
He was charmed by Augusta, writing:
"The Princess Augusta is a very amiable woman, talks a good deal and laughs more, was pleased to express her approbation of the beginning I made at the first sitting by an exclamation accompanied by a slap on the back (for which she begged my pardon!)".
