About MeAs a student at Glasgow School of Art, Watt followed in the figurative revival of the 1980s in the wake of artists such as Steven Campbell and Peter Howson. In her early work, she has often used herself as a model for her compositions. Elongated and distorted, these hybrids inhabit a surreal world. This triptych entitled 'Cherries, Forbidden Fruit and Pear in a Landscape,' can be split and displayed separately. The artist's interest in folded drapery, which becomes manifest in the more recent painting, Riviere, is apparent even in this early work.
