Marget Husband

Marget Husband was awarded the Royal Red Cross (First Class) for her services to nursing. It was presented to her by George VI at an investiture at Buckingham Palace in 1943. The Royal Red Cross was instituted in 1883 by Queen Victoria and is the highest award a nurse can receive, except for bravery. Husband was Principal Matron of the Territorial Army Service from 1933 to 1950 with the rank of lieutenant-colonel.
