About MeGeneral Edmund Allenby was a British soldier and administrator most famous for his role during the First World War, where he led the Egyptian Expeditionary Force during the Sinai and Palestine Campaign, in the conquest of Palestine and Syria in 1917 and 1918.

General Allenby was nicknamed the "Bloody Bull" and was arguably one of the most successful British commanders of the war, drawing upon strategies developed from his experiences in the Boer War and on the Western Front in his Palestinian Campaigns of 1917 and 1918.
