BRENT DELTA Oil Platform

About MeBrent Delta was a three leg concrete gravity jacket with a steel topsides. It was commissioned to be built at Stavanger, Norway in 1976 and was rapidly commissioned later that same year.
It was operated by Shell throughout its life and at peak production one of the most productive in the UKCS.
The topsides were three level and weighed approximately 24,000 tons.
Planning for the eventual decommissioning of the installation began in 2008 and production finally ceased in 2011. There then followed the lengthy process of cleaning and strengthening the topside platform, and the plugging and abandoning the wells.

The topsides were removed 2017 by the ALLSEAS Pioneering Spirit in one lift and transported to Hartlepool for deconstruction and recycling.
