Beryl Alpha Platform

About MeBeryl Alpha was the first three legged concrete gravity base platform (Condeep) to be built. It was ordered in 1973 by Mobil and both jacket and topsides were constructed at Stavanger in Norway. The installation has three structures - riser tower, flare tower and the main production and processing platform. The latter has 4 main module decks and accomodation for up to 300 crew. It acts as hub for a number of facillities in the area including the Beryl Bravo platform.
Beryl Alpha was commissioned in June 1976 and first oil produced later that same year, which was offloaded to tanker.

Beryl Alpha is over 300m tall and weighs over 200,000t, and is located in 140m sea depth.

In 2011 Apache Corporation purchased Mobils North Sea assets including Beryl.
