About MeAlba N Platform, the jacket was constructed at Highland Fabricators yard in Easter Ross in 1992 and commissioned in 1993 and first oil 1994. It is a fixed steel 8 leg jacket weighing approx 17,000t and topside module construction, the latter constructed by BIfab in Fife weighs approx 20,000t.
Originally field was operated using 1 platform and a floating storage unit. This was later augmented to the South by a subsea manifold linked to the platform by 5km pipeline in 2002 seeing first production from the 10 wells it comprises.
It was originally operated by Chevron, but passed through a number of operators including Talisman and Endeavour and is at 2020 operated by Ithaca..
