About MeBurgess and Leigh were a Staffordshire earthenware firm occupying several premises in Burslem. The Middleport Pottery (from 1890) specialised in the production of domestic and ornamental wares for the home. From the 1930s Burleigh, a contraction of the two names, was printed on their stock.
