DescriptionA trial trenching evaluation was carried out by ACC Archaeological Unit in January-February 2009 on the site of proposed cattery and stables. Seven trenches (7 percent of the development area) were excavated. Three contained ceramic land drains of probably late 19th or early 20th century date. Trench 5 was in an area of previously recorded rig and furrow but no archaeological deposits were uncovered. No features or artefacts of archaeological significance were recorded.
