About MeIt was not until 1963 that Aitchison began working from living models, when he began working on a series of nudes.Born in Scotland his approach to the nude form is what you could call Northern. Although 'Judi' is less claustrophobic than his earlier nudes with their imposing dark backgrounds, there is still a sense of unease and tenseness about the model, standing uncomfortably straight. Aitchison had a refreshing approach in his treatment of the female form, he was completely objective and straight forward and idealisation did not enter his vocabulary.
