About MeA locally-made rectangular token bearing the name of the church and the date within a raised border: Skene / 1821. The reverse of the piece is uninscribed but has the communion table number (1 in this case) stamped in the centre.The church is located in the village of Kirkton of Skene about six miles west of Aberdeen. The building bears the date 1801 and is of similar design to that of nearby Echt Church. The minister of Skene Church in 1821 was The Rev. James Hogg of Durris.
